Over 30 Years of Surfing & Teaching

At Crystal South Surf Camp safety is priority numero uno. All are staff are trained and certified in first aid, life saving, water rescue, and CPR. We are particularly aware of our added responsibility with small children and we take it seriously. We have safely and successfully taught hundreds of children of all ages to surf.

Not only do we focus on safety during actual instruction hours, we also teach the rules of the water. Surfing is more than just physical ability. A good surfer is a safe surfer. We will teach you the rules of thumb to keep you surfing safely long after you leave our camp.

A word about surfboards

Sometimes your surfboard is not appropriate for you for learning (i.e., a high performance shape or is too dangerous with sharp edges, fins and open fiberglass holes). Unless your board is appropriate, we will require you to use one of our boards for safety reasons. Most of our boards are soft top and bottom with rubber fins.
